So - HH Gold here. I stayed at a HGI on a room rate that does not accrue points. My MyWay HGI benefit apparently entitles me to either a breakfast or 750 bonus points. Because I was leaving very early the next day, I decided to opt for the 750 bonus points instead of an unexciting packed breakfast.
However, post-stay, I did not get awarded these points. Contacted customer service who keep thinking I am referring to the room "No, the discounted room rate doesn't entitle you to points for the stay - but as a gesture of goodwill, here's some points". "Yes, thank you very much - but I thought my MyWay benefit was independent of room rate", "Your room rate... ".
So - can anyone clarify if as a Gold member, I can pick from breakfast or points- or is it only breakfast I can get?
Thanks!

If your rate is ineligible for points (as you say in the first post) then it is also ineligible for points via a MyWay on property benefit. From the HH terms and conditions:
Hilton Honors Points (or stay credit) may not be earned (including as a My Way benefit) for or during ineligible stays, including without limitation, folio charges incurred during ineligible stays.
