So - HH Gold here. I stayed at a HGI on a room rate that does not accrue points. My MyWay HGI benefit apparently entitles me to either a breakfast or 750 bonus points. Because I was leaving very early the next day, I decided to opt for the 750 bonus points instead of an unexciting packed breakfast.
However, post-stay, I did not get awarded these points. Contacted customer service who keep thinking I am referring to the room "No, the discounted room rate doesn't entitle you to points for the stay - but as a gesture of goodwill, here's some points". "Yes, thank you very much - but I thought my MyWay benefit was independent of room rate", "Your room rate... ".
So - can anyone clarify if as a Gold member, I can pick from breakfast or points- or is it only breakfast I can get?
Thanks!
Did you book the room via third-party? Usually, room rates ineligible for points are booked via third party: in this case, MyWay benefits (breakfast, points, etc.) won't apply either.
Only room booked via Hilton website (or phone) is eligible for member benefits, and I do not think there is any rate booked from Hilton website that cannot earn points.
