Should work in principle. I've done it in the past, using QR silver status to select seats on BA 7 days in advance, and then crediting the flights to my BA membership.
The problem may be changing the FF number on the booking. Having just booked a QR redemption, I couldn't find a way to change the FF number online from my Privilege Club to BA membership without phoning Qatar Airways. Using the Finnair site doesn't seem to work anymore (attempting a change results in an error), and my fallback for BA bookings of using the RJ website didn't work either as it couldn't see the QR booking.
