Just take the suitcase to Rimowa, if they say its not repairable get a statement from them. Submit that statement to CR along with the PIR and any proof of payment you may have and ask for a cash payment/compensation. The whole Dolfi runaround is not needed.

If Rimowa can repair it, let them do it and submit the bill.
