I used to hear stories about Amex concierge service being able to make reservations at Michelin star restaurants in Tokyo. But my recent experience is disappointing, after nearly 4 days of waiting, they came back and told me unable to make reservation due to language barrier and asked me to seek assistance from hotel concierge service. I know you can make reservation online with many Japanese restaurants now. Which credit card concierge service is worth trying to get the difficult restaurant booking in Japan?

Note: Amex Japan has this online booking called Kiwami 50, which only available to AmEx Japan platinum members, but not available to card issued outside Japan, also Amex Japan concierge service doesn't assist card issued outside Japan, which seems to be very strange.
