enviroian , if you are interested in solo cruising, have you looked into NCL? It seems to me that (some) people who cruise solo swear by them. They have solo cabins that give you access to a dedicated solo lounge with a concierge (I'm not sure if it's a concierge, exactly, but it's a dedicated person). The solo cabins (like all NCL cabins) are small, but with access to the lounge (where you can meet fellow singles, and thereby set up meet times for meals -- note that there are no set meal times in the main dining rooms -- excursions, entertainment, etc.). It would seem to be a good fit for you.
