I have two separate reservations. (Long story why)

jetblue short flight to jfk
2.5+ hour connection
AA transcon in F out of jfk

jetblue flight is a b6 reservation but I can put my aa number on it booked thru b6
aa flight has my aa number on it booked thru aa

Is it possible for me to check in with jetblue and have my bag transferred to my AA flight if I check a bag? Anyway I can “combined” them so that I don’t have to recheck my bag at jfk and rego thru security? Has anyone tried anything like this before? I would be nervous but it’s a pretty long layover. Aa elite so I get free bags on both carriers
