Intercontinental Montreal

Intercontinental Montreal

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? the hotel had been showing booked for the dates we were traveling until a few rooms opened a week or so before our trip (There is the COP15 Biodiversity Conference ongoing). We were traveling with kids, so I booked the 1 King 1 Bedroom Suite with living area (660sf) just to be safe in the event there were no upgrades. Upon check in, was informed hotel was sold out and they would provide points or food credit in lieu of upgrade, but after checking a little more with the manager, we were upgraded to an 800sf suite on the top floor (26th). The suite had 2 bathrooms, which was quite handy with the family, and great views of the city

How are the rooms? A little dark and dated, but extremely clean and comfortable. New TVs with the ability to cast, 4 closets, and comfortable seating.

How is the exec. lounge? n/a

What was good and what was bad? I'm a Diamond, so chose free breakfast for 2, but ending up receiving free breakfast for the family (4) for the 3 days we were there, which was a nice surprise. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the wait staff was quite attentive. The location of the hotel is great--close to Old Montreal, Chinatown, Downtown, and the Metro. With the COP15 Conference ongoing, the Metro station at Place-d'Armes was closed, as was direct underground access to the Metro from our hotel. Not a huge deal, but would have been nice given it was bitter cold. Huge police presence in the hotel and surrounding areas as well.
Parking is tight for a larger vehicle, but garage was quite empty. You also have to take 2 elevators to get from parking to the hotel lobby, and a different elevator to your room.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? Prices were a little higher than normal given the Conference, but used my Ambassador weekend night to offset the costs. We would return.
