Go to the Cathay Pacific website and check their ORD-HKG schedule on July 19th. There is no direct flight. I'm in the same boat as you, except HKG-ORD in June. My flight isn't actually showing up on their schedule.
Yes, I've done this. Yet, the reservation is still listed as "confirmed" and I was able to select seats for both of my flights...there were already a number of seats on the ORD-HKG leg assigned. I'm wondering if they are "selling" seats on some flights through partners that the plan on flying primarily for cargo...
