got upgraded to a king bed suite on 1st floor (their standard suite) 1 day before arrival. i didn't apply TSU as i thought the standard room here is pretty big and can be easily categorized as a junior suite in most hotels. the front dest agent was very apologetic for not finding me a suite on the higher floor. she also offered a standard room with mountain view on top floor as an option but i politely declined as the weather might not be permitted to see that view. i was very impressed by the room i got. It is very spacious, tastefully decorated and finishing in high quality.
the hotel ground itself is also very neat and beautiful, it is what you can expect from a top tier new-build park hyatt.
overall service is top notch, from the bellman/woman to housekeeping. almost everyone i met were very nice, polite and helpful. Japanese hospitality is the best to me.
didn't try the pool and gym but those facilities looked very nice. i did use the onsen many times and liked it a lot, very relaxing and refreshing. you need to book a 1-hour slot in advance but most of the times i had it all to myself.
i didn't dine at hotel restaurants other than breakfast. i found the breakfast has very good variety, high quality product and delicious. i liked the japanese breakfast section a lot. (ex. hokkaido scallop/squid/shrimp/salmon roe/tuna roe). regrading Pierre Herme's croissant, no need to order it one day in advance and no extra fee. i was told all bread and pastries on the buffet were Pierre Herme products. however, no croissant has been offered on the buffet 2 out of 4 morning i've been there.
i ordered in-room dining once and found it very good though quite expensive (as expected for hotel of this caliber).
there was quite heavy snow in niseko (actually most parts of hokkaido) on my last 2 days. it seems like this resort would be the great spot for skiing and other winter activities. (i departed 2 days before the winter season officially began.)
overall one of the best PH in the system (admitted that i've been only 9 locations). will DEFINITELY return, maybe in summer or autumn next year.
(sorry for my broken english.)
Was room service breakfast offered as a breakfast option for Globalists, or did you have to pay for it out of pocket?
