I'm not surprised, stayed at the Knickerbocker quite a few times this year and there is a large difference between the different Front desk employees and the same thing happened to me about 50% of the time, always booked via LHW. I've always been able to resolve this by going back to the front desk at a later time when there were other front desk employees. I agree with you that this is not very convenient and that it should be right from the first time. As the Knickerbocker is not a luxury hotel I don't really mind, price quality service it's a good place to stay for a few days in NY. I have not had issues in other properties with LHW bookings, on the contrary for me it has proven to be more consistent then Virtuoso, but yet again, often it really depends a lot on the person you are facing at that moment.
