With this pending strike by AF crew, I imagine this may end up being utilized by many people.

If they cancel your flight and move you to another flight on a different day, are you able to get reimbursed for purchasing a NEW ticket with a different carrier? This likely would exceed EUR 600, but I assume it would be covered under this leg of part of the rule:

"Reimbursement for the part or parts of your journey that were not made, and for the part or parts already made if the flight no longer serves any useful purpose, taking into consideration the original flight plan, and also a return flight to the first point of departure as noted on the ticket (if applicable)."
