Thing is, how many people (outside of the FT circle) will be making all those painstaking analysis? Me and you think based on "FT mindset", this is not how most folks operate: I have several work colleagues who, despite their shiny tags swinging on their laptop bags and their marginal interest as to whether they will fly an A320 or an Embraer, they just couldn't care less about all those maths nor whether they will gain status a bit easier by joining Aegean's program and flying to Greece just for the sake of it a couple of times a year; instead, they will always fly BA/LOT/Whatever based on their travel patterns, availability, what time they need to get there, corporate policy and so on.
