I recently had a nice stay at the Otis. I was originally told my room wasn't ready when I went to check in, but when I mentioned my Titanium status, it turned out they had a room available. Not sure why the hotel wasn't already aware of my status since I booked on the Marriott website, but was glad to have a room. I think I was "upgraded" to a high floor room that came with Evian water as opposed to Aquafina water (seriously).

Room is pretty nice and modern with a fresh design - you enter into the bathroom with the sink on one side and the shower on the other and the bed is further into the room. It has a record player as part of their music program - you can check out albums (did not do this). Nice TV, comfortable lounge chair, has a desk. Thermostat worked well and fully cooled the room down on a hot day.

Bathroom was comfortable, stand-alone shower worked well. They had bulk toiletries that were some kind of lemon brand and they were filled and worked properly.

Location on the edge of the University of Texas campus and a 15-20 minute walk from the Capitol. Much less noisy than downtown Austin - less music, fewer crowds.

Beautiful roofdeck with a bar and firepit. Great views of Austin. Pleasant looking pool but did not use it, not sure how crowded it gets.

Gym is on top floor near pool, seemed modern.

The main restaurant in the lobby has an excellent dinner with really good food at reasonable prices. There is also a local burger stand built into the hotel that you can walk-up to called Burger Bar - this was also excellent and relatively fast for fresh-made burgers. Similar in quality if not better than Shake Shack. Did not have breakfast.

Overall, I would choose this hotel again as long as you are okay being further away from downtown - it is modern with great restaurants and relatively peaceful for Austin.
