Hi All, AA forum newbie here. My first foray into the AA FT.
Ran into something a little bit weird today. I'm trying to book a trip to Milan - booking through AA so that 1) I can credit to AS 2) booking in PE so that I will earn 100% EQM
While my preference is to fly with AS, I noticed that on the AA website, there were absolutely no flights that incorporated AS legs. There were quite a few using JetBlue which I stayed far away from since I know those will not earn me any EQM (to AS).
Yesterday I put a hold on an AA-BA codeshare itinerary, but today I figured I'd check Google Flights to see if anything better popped up. I found a way better itinerary that worked for me time-wise AND included AS domestic legs for only a little bit more expensive than the flight I had on hold. Google Flights took me to AA directly where I was able to purchase.
Any reason why this itinerary isn't showing up organically on AA when I do a search on their site? Booking codes for the AS domestic legs are both N and for the AA Premium Econ are P. If for some reason I have to cancel this trip, can I do so without a change fee and use the amount I paid towards a different trip later? (I think I heard I could use the credit within a year as long as it wasn't a basic econ fare.) Thanks!
