Because they're unattached. 1L and 2L are connected as are 3L/4L, and if someone moves hard, the connected seat shakes ever so slightly. It's like someone pulling on the back of your seat slightly in a narrow body seat.

If you know your traveling companion well and they aren't very fidgety, then go with the heads connected.
