There are some pretty bad field stations out there too. Some not really the fault of United as facility limitations. I go to a lot of smaller markets (a lot of these recently departed Skywest/UA network for Contour or other carriers) where they were not built for TSA. Muscle Shoals, AL is one that recently transitioned.... the secure area is about 150 sq feet and as you pass through the TSA lane they tell you to grab a metal folding chair that's leaning against the wall and sit where you can including in the exit lane.

Richmond (RIC) is a beautiful terminal but the United gates can be a nightmare in the afternoon... hold rooms small, and they get caught in every single EWR/IAD ATC program so by 6pm can have three EWR and an IAD or two all backed up plus the normal Airbus out to Denver.

It's since gone, but the old G shed at IAD was awful.
