Currently, I am booked in J class for a flight from Fukuoka (Japan) to SFO, with a multi-day stopover in Tokyo. It's all on JAL using AS miles. The transpacific segment is in J for sure but I am changing the domestic leg (i.e., FUK to Tokyo) to a Fri departure. I think JAL blocks all J award seats on FUK-Tokyo on Fri for partners, and thus I will have to fly econ should I make this change.

I don't mind sitting in econ on this short domestic flight but I need to ensure that I can check-in two pieces of baggage. So, my question: will I be able to check-in two pieces at FUK? I will call AS to get one answer, but I know that their phone agents are not that knowledgeable when it comes to foreign matters. In fact, if I call twice, I may get two different answers. Therefore, I am picking the brains of the experts here to help.
