United 767 - Inoperable Reading Light and Entertainment System
I need some advice. I travelled to Houston, Texas from Santiago Chile two weeks ago. 9-hour night-time flight. My reading light and entertainment system did not work. The flight attendant promised me a credit of $50 for the inoperative light and another $150 for the inoperable entertainment system. She came by with the little hand-held computer . . . showed me my email address and then showed me that she initiated the credits. When I got to Houston i had two emails from United one for each credit BUT the credit was to another passenger with another Mileage Plus Acount ! THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT GAVE THE CREDITS TO THE WRONG PERSON!! I was in my assigned seat. I contacted United Customer Care. I provided copies of the emails showing that the credits went to the wrong person. Its been over two weeks . . . . NO RESPONSE from United.
What should I do? Who do I contact? How can I get United's attention. Is this worth a complaining to DOT? Thanks !!
