Help me pick a premium flight to Tokyo on American (sigh , yes American). I need to book a premium flight in First or Business on aa.com to Tokyo from Phx March 27 2023 preferably using miles or flight credits on American and I have plenty of both. The flight cost to fly JAL code share on aa.com is over $7,000 more each way so I think I want to avoid wasting flight credits. I can book mile flights on aa metal for 150-175k aadvantage miles each way. I could also even skip aa.com and use another alliance if the cost savings in miles or dollars was significant. If I could get JAL availability with aadvantage miles I would book that trip and just buy a ticket to LAX to begin my trip but no available inventory shows. So far I am choosing between the two aa metal flights:
7:20 am PHX - 8:54am arrive LAX AA 767 32Q-Airbus A321neo layover 10:25am LAX - arrive 2:20pm HND AA 27 788-Boeing 78
or This flight that seems better for a nice layover at LAX AA Flagship and no traffic when I arrive in Tokyo. I am not sure what the best flight is to avoid jet lag.
8:05PM PHX - arrive 9:35pm LAX AA 2001 32Q-Airbus A321n Layover 12:55am LAX - arrive 4:45am HND AA 169 788-Boeing 787

Any input would be appreciated. I do often not have the luxury of picking flights or times and usually fly last minute and now realize that has actually helped me in the past as there was no time to pick how I travel.
