Just spent two nights here on a Guest of Honor booking. Std room 5th floor street view. First room smelled bad and had spray residue on coffee and bedside table. (Maybe unwiped after a disinfectant spray gun was used?) Switched to another room which was better in those regards but did have issues with the window closing all the way. Walls, fixtures, ledge above shower privacy curtain had more dust than I'd expect. The familiar Andaz smell didn't seem as prevalent throughout, sometimes seemingly replaced by a more common bathroom air freshener odor(in my opinion). Advised at check-in that 1 non-alcoholic drink and 1 entree per person were comped for breakfast. After inquiring about the $10 F&B credit was told that it didn't apply because we didn't pay the destination fee on an award booking and that the breakfast credit supersedes it. Not sure I follow the logic but am also not in tune with Hyatt things.

Breakfast at Rooftop STK was pretty good. The short rib omelette was kind of plain/bland. English muffin poorly toasted. Chicken Sausage side terrible. Chicken & waffles was pretty good. So Cal Benedict(turkey/chipotle hollandaise) good but dish is too rich/creamy for us at breakfast. 'Pretzel Croissant' Breakfast sandwich was good. Their breakfast potatoes were perfect. Seasonal Espresso Scone very doughnut like and good. Tested this '1 drink/1 entree per person' thing by getting sides and a pastry. All of it was comped at checkout without any question. Service at breakfast was notably GREAT.

As others have noted, overall not as good as it has been in the past, plastic/melamine wine glasses and not as clean/fresh as it used to be. Leather wrapped column just outside the elevator in lobby has seen too many bags dragged against it and is coming apart. They probably should come up with something different for such a high traffic spot.

Echo above comments about the unhoused in the area. We walked east of the hotel to Lola 55 for drinks/dinner. Sidewalks were completely blocked with tent camps for a couple of the blocks. Amazed at the amount of high rises going up in the area while the situation with the unhoused continues to deteriorate.
