We are actually coming from CDG and transiting onwards from LHR to SIN. After hearing everyone's take on it, we will definitely be remaining in Terminal 5. If anything, just to not cause us any unnecessary stress and long waits in line.

I've heard about the lounge at 5B but wasnt sure if they had showers there. If our gate is close by then definitely would make sense to head there for the shower facilities since we only intend to use them just before our flight at 9+pm.

Do both galleries lounges in T5 have showers too? I've read that they are typically quite busy? Our layover is 5pm to 9pm. Would you guys recommend any one lounge over the other in terms of space, crowd and ease of getting shower facilities?
