If one wants to ride a cable car in San Francisco, it’s $8 cash on board for one way. It’s $8 on muni app. And for an all-day pass which includes the cable car, it’s $13 per day. Think it’s $31 for 3 days. That price is on the Muni app only. A paper all-day pass is $24 at shops.
We took the cable car 4 times within 90 minutes yesterday. So fun. $13 pp. if it was only $8 one way then maybe we’d take it maximum twice for $16. We were 5 people so $65 is cheaper than $80.
Just want to note that if you do buy single tickets you aren't charged within 90 minutes, as it counts as a "transfer". Still, the muni app is a good deal for short term passes.
If you're not sure how often you'll ride muni, or might come back to SF, I'm a fan of Clipper which is the bay area's reloadable transit card. It's easy to tap on, but no day/multi-day passes. There is a $3 fee for a new clipper card, but they've usually waived it recently for mobile cards.
