On the way back, he is all United, but marked by SWISS. My question is, will he be an unaccompanied minor during this trip? Because it is booked with SWISS, we can folly book it without him being an unaccompanied minor, even though United would make him be 15 to fly alone on United flights.

I don't need or want him to be an unaccompanied minor, so please let me know what would happen! SWISS will let us book the trip without him being unaccompanied, even thought United's age is 15.
He won’t be able to fly. United’s UM program is required for travelers under the age of 15. That means if your son is 14 and 364 days old, he will be required to participate. United only allows UM to fly nonstop flights.
