From July 8-22, I'm planning a trip for my son to fly to Switzerland. He would be 14 years old and the route would be GRR-ORD (operated by UA, marked by LX), ORD-ZRH (operated by LX). On the way back, he is all United, but marked by SWISS. My question is, will he be an unaccompanied minor during this trip? Because it is booked with SWISS, we can folly book it without him being an unaccompanied minor, even though United would make him be 15 to fly alone on United flights.

I don't need or want him to be an unaccompanied minor, so please let me know what would happen! SWISS will let us book the trip without him being unaccompanied, even thought United's age is 15.
