Nice for a Hyatt Place but....Still a Hyatt Place
Had meetings in the area and this was the most convenient Hyatt for me to stay at. It was a relatively easy trip from the airport at about 20 minutes with no traffic. Check in was efficient and was alerted that as a Globalist I was entitled to two bottles of water each day, so I had that going for me. I got the room type booked, right across from the ice machine. That is pretty much par for the course with Hyatt Place properties as I don't think there are any substantive benefits other than the "water" and late checkout. The room is pretty much a standard Hyatt Place room which is fine but I find the design and décor to be drab and a bit dated. The lobby was bright and plenty of space for breakfast and meeting people etc. Breakfast which is free for everyone is good for a Hyatt Place breakfast, but not great in general. That is typical of free breakfast properties though. They have the standard tiny lobby bar that you find in Hyatt properties but couldn't tell if it was open and just at the end of the lobby there was someplace called the HyBar which I assumed was an upgraded version of their typical lobby bar. I stopped in and there was a nice bartender working there but their "cook didn't make it in that night" so they had no food. I went elsewhere as there is a ton of restaurants nearby. You will pass a slew of homeless as seem to be prevalent in many large cities these days unfortunately. It was fine but during my dates the rate I paid was close to $300 which is not a good value at all. Service at the property ranged from "ok" to utter indifference. I walked by one evening at the front desk agent was cussing out a friend on the phone. Like I said, you might be paying $300 night and it might be a bit nicer but it is still a Hyatt Place.
