So I called the Gold support line to ask if my upcoming flights had meals.

Bottom line: I was told "you should get them, but you may not, and if you don't, we have a disclaimer saying select flights will not." The agent did not seem to understand why this was a big deal as I would get a snack box instead. She couldn't tell which flights over 2.5 hours had a meal or didn't and could provide no rules on how to tell. It's best effort. I think I understand now why this is a problem: people at WestJet think a hot meal = a snack box and don't see why anyone would care about this. Apparently J prices are worth a big seat up front.

It's all WS Y from here on out with a last minute cheap upgrade if I want a bigger seat - and if I want J I guess I'm flying AC. Ridiculous.
