Location, location, location. All hotel prices in this area have gone crazy post-hurricane. There are a couple other resorts you could try if you decide to return but they are going to be $1,000+ per night in high season too. I’ll personally take an Amex Free Night redemption here vs paying $300+ for Motel 6 level accommodations a few miles down the road.

If you don’t like the “run down roadside motel” and “quirky roadside attraction that has seen better days” vibe, Islamorada may not be the best destination.
