Well ... thank you one and all for your respective perspectives, and with all due respect to Thichbay's (and olouie's) dissenting voice, I have been swayed by the overwhelming majority to book myself in First on AS 710 for a princely sum of $243.60! The equipment will be a 737-9 MAX, and I have been allocated to seat 1F, which I suppose is a bulkhead window.

Since it is a shorter evening flight, I would probably prefer a window seat, so that I can enjoy the views, but is there any reason to move backwards, or to the other side of the plane? (Looking at the seat map, I now realise there is a Prestige cabin between First and Main, which I suppose is like the European business class, but I never saw this advertised anywhere.) Thanks again.
