Not a lot of vehicles on the lot today because of Raiders fans coming in a day early before the Thursday Night Football game against the Rams at SoFi. Nothing in 5*. Everyone was being directed to PC, if they had any kind of status.
Returned & rented on Wednesday 12/7/2022 about 2 pm.
Trying to get ahead of high Christmas holiday rates as I have a low AAA rate + PC that makes my rate slightly less than $200 base per week (D class) for 4 weeks.
Returned my Chevy Traverse with Washington state plates as the tags expire on 1/1/23. I asked how they get the tags for it. Answer was they'll try to send it on a one way rental back but if not Hertz LAX would likely buy it from the Washington station (SEA). They have no way of shipping vehicles back to their originating owned stations I was told.
My longterm Hertz agents put me in a brand new (20 miles) Toyota Highlander as they had no Chevy Traverse vehicles on the lot. Nicely loaded vehicle.
I was told they expect to move into the unified car rental garage in September 2023 (last time I reported just 2023).
Only snag may be the new automated people mover is behind schedule. The garage won't open until it is finished. I seriously doubt it will be ready in 2023 looking at it today.
Gold office is staffed and open 24/7. I had not asked since Covid when hours were limited or it was closed.
Last time I reported they got a fleet of new Cadillac Escalade's. I asked if there were any new vehicles and they got a fleet of new Cadillac XT4's last week. They are expecting many new vehicles in the next two weeks. Otherwise, other new vehicles are just coming in smaller numbers slowly such as the one I got today.
