The caveat obviously is that going to LHR is typically a shorter flight than coming back. The jump from PE to business is a bit steep, given it's only 50 more TPs, and PE already makes 90 TPs. Is PE to business upgrade a good deal, from the perspective of getting most TPs out of least cash? Is the level of extra few hours of comfort worth the cash?

I think PE is likely the sweet spot for TP/$, but you'd need to specify the price difference to work it out. Personally, a day flight I don't need J, but I'm in the minority on here on that I think.
The comfort difference is notable. But 'worth' is a very personal thing.
