There was a reception event in downtown SF when SFO-YEG restarted. I was sadly not invited, but happened to be walking past the venue and peeked in. There were reps from AC, YEG, and Alberta tourism there I think... so it's possible AC has a minimum commitment on that route/may be receiving some subsidies.
