My BA-ticketed (AY operated) flight was cancelled as a result of the AY strike, and I was put on an AY-numbered itinerary for the next day.

The avios earned under an AY flight number were about 1,000 less than under BA. Maybe not worth bothering about too much, but I'm wondering if the "re-route" could earn me a whole new set of 80TPs plus associated avios from the BA flight that was cancelled.

Of course, MRC could refer to re-routing in terms of a new route rather than a switch of flights and carrier, in which case my greedy scheme is sunk.
