While many car rental companies post a maximum age, these rules aren't often enforced. We've been in business for almost 13 years and we've never once had a customer turned away for being too old. Additionally, it sounds like you are going to be the primary driver and the one who the rental contract is written under. While not guaranteed, there likely would be less scrutiny for an additional driver on the contract than for the primary driver.
