Fair enough for those who use 2-4-1 (and indeed, almost all of the positive comments have been from people redeeming those), but the rest of us who don't are losing out a lot, and obviously, that reinforces the fact that those based in European countries outside of the UK are the biggest losers. We don't get 2-4-1s and we are now subsidising 2-4-1s, ex-UK APD, and those getting tonnes of avios from US credit cards without ever flying BA. I also share KARFA's worry that we will be losing out even more if using Avios to upgrade rather than buy award tickets. So I'm glad for people who are enjoying the change, but sadly, for many of us, it is a very poor result indeed as exemplified in a number of posts above which correspond to my own calculations on rewards business class trips from France which have been sharply devalued in terms of either cash and/or avios.
