Turns out that Cenex Commander + Wayne pumps accepts ctls via Google or Apple Pay only. Physical Amex card tapped said too many cards and my Visa debit card tapped looks like it's going to work but it then says declined. Very odd as inside you have to use the physical card to tap as Google Pay will try to force pin and not work. I wonder if Amex in Google Pay would work if it did this is just plain weird.
