New Year's Eve - New Year overnight train schedule
As we enter Shiwasu (師走, the month of December) train companies are starting to make announcements regarding overnight service for Dec. 31. 2022 - Jan. 1, 2023.
Kanto (Tokyo) area:
JR East: Will operate overnight service on Yamanote Line, Keihin Tohoku Line, Chuo Rapid Line, Chou Sobu Local Line, Yokosuka Line, Oume Line, and Sobu Line to Narita.
All other JR East lines will operate under a regular schedule without overnight service
Keisei Line: Overnight service between Ueno-Narita
Odakyu Line: No overnight service. Will operate local service depart Machida at 4:30 a.m. arriving Katase Enoshima at 5:17 a.m., and "New Year Express Romance Car" depart Shinjuku at 4:45 a.m. arriving Katase Enoshima at 5:57 a.m. These two trains are for sunrise viewing at Enoshima
Tokyu Line: No overnight service
Keikyu Line: No overnight service
Seibu Line: No Overnight service
Kansaki (Osaka) area:
JR West: Extend the schedule till 3 a.m. Jan. 1. Will not operate throughout the night
Service is extended till 3 a.m. on Osaka Loop Line (every 10 min.), Kobe Line, Kyoto Line, Nara Line, Tozai Line, Yamatoji Line, Manyo Mahoriji Line (every 30 min. on those lines)
All other JR West lines will operate under a regular schedule without overnight service
Kintetsu Line: Will operate trains throughout the night on Osaka/Nagoya-Ise, Osaka-Nara, and Kyoto-Nara/Kashiwabaara Jingu, about every 30 min.
Nankai Line: Run Nanba-Takaiishi every 20 min. till 2:20 a.m.
Hanshin Line: No overnight service
Sanyou Line: No overnight service
Hankyu Line: No overnight service
Kobe Electric Line: No overnight service
