The bins were indeed fairly full on my flights but I managed to squeeze my coat on top of my roller suitcase in the outboard bins.

It was my first time in DPS, having flown VS & BA premium economy products years back, and overall I thought it was decent. Definitely not much of a service step-up over economy ... I was surprised that the meal service was entirely integrated with the economy flow, with the carts continuing right on through C+ (and not coming back to collect any trash until the entire plane was served). IIRC VS had a bit more personalized attention for PE, but I last flew it in 2015 so I don't remember well and things could have changed since.

The food was fine, but odd. As others have reported, the main course options were indeed identical to two of the options on the D1 menu, but since it is cooked like an economy meal all in one container, it's a dramatically less impressive presentation than D1. I'm also not sure if it's the same quantity of food; it felt smaller than a D1 main, but not sure. (I don't know what the current post-COVID standards are, but pre-COVID I believe international D1 meals were prepared with each ingredient cooked separately and plated in the galley, which obviously looks much nicer and also can improve taste and texture when done well since veggies aren't overcooked in order to make sure the meat is heated through; to whatever extent any of that is still happening in D1, none of it makes it to DPS. Granted, some airlines -- including, last I knew, United -- don't bother with that extra touch for business class either.)
