It used to be that OCIs' fingerprints were not captured. In March 2022 on entry at BOM I had my fingerprint (one thumb, if I recall correctly, but not sure) captured. Last week on entry at BLR I was asked to scan my left thumb. It took several tries to get a scan that satisfied the officer; it seemed that the fingerprint scanners were new, and they just didn't work well.

Two colleagues who arrived at BOM yesterday reported a wait of close to 2 hours to clear immigration as they were asking everyone to have their fingerprints scanned and the scanners were working poorly, while there were at least 3 plane-loads of arrivals waiting in the queues.
