flying back Berlin to la there are no choices for la premiere (it is not a sold out problem as I searched multiple days over several weeks and all that ever shows up is business class only). will I have access to la premiere on trip back?
There are a few conditions such as your inbound leg to the US needs to be a route not offering an LP flights (i.e CDG-MIA/JFK/IAD/SFO/LAX) or on a plane that has an LP cabin (non LP 777s, 787, a350s, etc). If you meet these requirements, you can purchase LP connecting service at CDG for 650 Euros according to
here.
Based on your example scenario, of BER-LAX, I do not think you will qualify as CDG-LAX has LP. You can try calling AF and seeing if there is not a fare difference in changing your inbound leg to BER-SFO to J and upgrade to LP or switch to CDG-SEA so that you could purchase LP ground service.
