From what I can see the dress code is ‘smart casual’ which I hope will be ok even though we don’t plan on packing fancy clothes – just black pants, sweater, etc. But what about shoes? As we will be tourists would black sneakers be ok? We would rather not pack dress shoes just for one dinner.

Any thoughts / tips on any of this?
I happened to go to the Savoy Grill last night, a very last minute booking. While most people were indeed dressed fairly
smart - and many quite glitzy for Christmas - there was also a range with a few people in more casual wear. I don’t think you’d have any issue with black sneakers, though personally I’d wear a shirt rather than just a sweater.

The toilets are via the hotel lobby so you’ll
also see a real mix of people on your way in and out, from those in their fanciest dress to tourists coming back from a day out shopping.

The food and service were excellent by the way. The Wellington in particular was top notch. You don’t need to order the Taste of Savoy menu in advance btw.
