Out bound from my home city is an award ticket, taxes paid with crs. Return from Europe is via an around the world ticket paid with csr with the first stop in my home city and onward back to Europe. Return from Europe with a round trip ticket paid with csr and finally an award ticket back home. The entire itinerary last 3 months.
Trip Delay requires you to depart from and then return to your home city within one year. Not all of the tickets need to be on the CSR. Any leg paid for by CSR is covered as long as the total trip is less than a year. (Note also that award tickets are covered as long as you pay for taxes with CSR, or use miles generated by CSR.)
Trip Cancellation/Interruption requires you to return home within 60 days, so your 90-day trip wouldn't qualify.
