I purchased an M class fare domestic and I am a 1k.
There is no availability in PN.
And I cannot get alerts for this in expert flyer.
Am I to login to United and check the flight 4-6 times a day manually?
The wiki says something about an "upgrade button". What does this button look like? Is it where the "CPU requested" is located when viewing a booking on united.com?
If PN becomes available, you click “instant upgrade fare” on your reservation. If P class is not available, PN won’t become available anytime soon. That is, you do need to babysit your reservation when P is available (but PN is not), but do not need to check 6 times a day when P is not available.
