i was looking at booking some domestic flights on AC. The individual flights are 2 x 24.6k plus 2 x 24.9k which should be 98k points but the total shows as 143.6k.

i have found a workaround that is to book the outbound and inbound separately. the totals are correct. IIRC, the cancellation fees used to be per ticket but not per direction. Is my memory correct? I would like to confirm that today, there is no disadvantage in booking separate outbound and inbound tickets.
i'm just curious to know if anyone else has encountered this problem and i'm also wondering if i'm doing something wrong. could it be because i don't have enough points?
Are you using the webpage or the AC/Aeroplan app? I had a similar thing happen to me where the two one ways on the webpage were correct but the round trip was higher than it should have been. The app had the correct round trip points redemption.
