The bigger overhead bins and boarding strategy

Hi all, it's been a minute. Hope all is great with all of you.

It occurs to me that now that there is way more overhead bin space on (some? all? see below for a ? about that) AA equipment, I can board last instead of first -- chill out in the lounge/boarding area instead of getting poked by people's backpacks in my exit row aisle for 20 minutes. But it begs the question: Do planes with the new turn-bags-on-their-sides bins *ever* run out of overhead bin space? Or perhaps more importantly, do they ever start taking bags at the gate for *fear* of running out of space? I'd love to board last instead of first, but I don't want to check bags ever.

And... if I can board last, is there any failsafe way/updated/updating list of equipment that does have the bigger bins -- so I can know ahead of time that it is indeed safe to board last?

Apologies if we've gotten this granular in older threads -- I looked but my search came up empty.
