Yes, 6-weeks out seems to be the time when the check their sales on particular flights and if 'under-filling' will drop fares. Having said that, I picked up two CW/CE US to Athens (rtn) in May next year for about 2,000 UKP each. (My last economy US-EU was $2,800!)
