If it fails from passenger details selection to payment page, then usually the PNR ref is shown briefly even if there is an error proceeding to the payments page. Such a PNR the support should be able to locate
If your attempt fails when moving to the passenger details already, you can call, but I'm not aware of folks being able to get the record locator. YMMV.
