I like both rows -- usually I would opt for 6 for the free drinks and the greater ease of boarding/deplaning. However I recently did a couple of transcons in row 17 and I'm now questioning myself on which I prefer. I got the best sleep on a plane in my life earlier this month in 17A on a 900ER.

If I'm in 6C or D, I usually don't mind putting everything up top and letting the person in the middle seat use the under-seat space, as I'll have easy access to my belongings once in the air. I will however usually hold onto my jacket, and sometimes I slide my computer and charger under the seat (and give the rest of the space to whoever's in B/E) if I need to get right to work.
