Echoing what's been said already, when Mrs Schmidt and I bought a French property about 7 years ago, we went to open a joint account. She is a dual US/UK national, I'm UK only. Long story short, but we ended up just having me as the bank account holder as it was a lot easier than going through the hoops required to have her on the account.
