Can this really not be used for anyone else i.e. like myself and my son who are going somewhere next year (wife and daughter would be the names on the tickets with the e-credit) - again I assume no.

If I use the credit to book "fake flights i.e. never going to take them" in order to use the credit before it expires can I then cancel that booking later but before the flight of course and get new e-credit with a new expiration date?
1) No

2) The answer is no. You can only use it for the passenger whose name is on the e-credit iirc

3) I haven't tried that before, but based on my experience so far, everything for DL expires on December 31st, 2023- whether it's a ticket or e-credit voucher- so odds are that your new voucher will expire on December 31st.
